Digital Photography: Capture Your World

Description: Discover the power of the camera you use every day! This dynamic "Bring Your Own Device" (BYOD) photography program is designed for students in grades 4-8 who want to learn how to take amazing photos using their own smartphone, iPad, or tablet.

Our curriculum focuses on the essential skills of a modern photographer. 

Students will learn how to:

• See Like an Artist: Master the fundamentals of composition, including the Rule of Thirds, leading lines, and framing.

• Master the Light: Understand how to use lighting to create mood, add drama, and make their subjects pop.

• Control the Shot: Go beyond "auto mode" by learning to manage focus, play with focal points, and experiment with different angles.

• Edit Like a Pro: Dive into digital post-production using popular, in-demand platforms like the Adobe Creative Cloud (mobile/web apps) and Capcut.

The program culminates in a Final Project Showcase, where students will curate and present their favorite photographs in a gallery for parents and the school community to enjoy.

• Curriculum Note: This program is dynamically tailored to the group. The instructor will adjust lesson plans based on how quickly students pick up the concepts and will adapt the projects to the specific software and technology available at the school.
