Junior Chefs: Cooking with Confidence
Grades 5–8 | Taught by Chef Patrick Merkley
In this six-week class, students will build essential kitchen skills—from hygiene and safety to knife handling, meal prep, and baking. Whether you're a beginner or already love to cook, you’ll learn to confidently prepare at least one full meal for yourself or your family.
Topics include:
Kitchen safety, sanitation, and organization
Knife skills and basic first aid
Reading, scaling, and understanding recipes
Choosing and caring for cookware
Exploring proteins, plant-based meals, and baked goods
Planning, prepping, and plating a complete meal
Hosted in our new Middle School kitchen, this class is perfect for aspiring chefs ready to grow their skills and creativity in the kitchen.
