Date: Tuesday Mornings - 9/3, 9/10, 9/17, 9/24, 10/1, 10/8, 10/15, 10/22, 10/29, 11/5, 11/12, 11/19, 12/3, 12/10, 12/17 

Description: This performance group will meet for a 15 CLASS SESSION, once a week on Tuesdays before school. Occasional extra rehearsals will be schedueled prior to performances.

This enrichment is meant to introduce young minds to music through learning the

Ukulele and basic voice techniques.

EDUCATION BENEFITS
1. Developing hand eye coordination and basic string instrument skills
2. Learning basic singing techniques - finding and holding pitch.
3. Learning teamwork and working within groups as well as performance
preparation and execution.
4. Learning basic beginning music theory

OBJECTIVES
1. The main objective of this enrichment program is to have fun while learning to
sing and play the ukulele and learning to sing.
2. To prepare for and complete a short winter performance of holiday music for the
school on Ukulele w/voices.

WHAT’S NEEDED

A great attitude and a willingness to learn. We will gather together every
Tuesday morning in the main music room to begin our great musical journey.
Through mindfulness and the live of music we will learn how to care for and tune
a Ukulele and how to strum this beautiful Island instrument. As we progress
through the first semester, we will begin to learn basic vocal techniques and how
to sing and play Ukulele at the same time. Woven into our journey will be basic
music theory and learning and building a Ukulele repertoire to be used for a
winter and spring performance! Come have fun with us Tuesday mornings!
